We saw the sun... no seriously, it was there!

Most of the time, we love where we live. We have a huge amount of property to play on and the kids love to go outside and get ridiculously muddy. However, during the winter, we almost never see the sun. We NEVER get feel the sun! I am very much a sun-loving girl and so are my kids. As a result, during the colder months, we don't get outside very often... unless there is snow. Imagine my surprise then, when I woke up this morning and the sun was shining in our back door! There was actually a warm spot on the floor!
We took advantage of this bizarre occurrence and got the kids dressed and headed outside for a little play-time.
It is wonderful to see Riley do this. She hasn't pretended to be a sloth since before she broke her leg last September.

Ahh the pure joy of a swing!

See this smile? This is what being a kid is all about.

Corban played a little peek a boo from inside the play house.

This was Eli's first time on a swing, except for the baby swing he used to sleep in.
The higher he went, the louder he laughed!

How cute is our littlest bear!? (Thanks Miss Shelly for the gorgeous Poo Bear sweat shirt)

Corban fell off the end of the slide last year soon after we got the playground. The big pile of snow at the bottom made for a perfect landing pad this time!

Alas, the sun didn't last long. About 30 minutes of outside exuberance and the sun was once again hidden behind a big black rain cloud. We all got a dose of vitamin D and a much needed shot of laughter so it was all worth it. Thanks God for the wonderful reminder that winter is only a season and spring will be here before we know it!

Hi Sar!
So good to see all these recent photos! Eli looks so big, which really shouldn't surprise me considering how big Charlie is.
Getting out in the snow (and brief sun) looks like so much fun.
That one of Corban peeking out of the cubbyhouse is gorgeous. Very cute.
